We are a cooperation of three environmental consultancy agencies in Northern Gemany with many years of experience. As “Planungsgemeinschaft Umweltplanung Offshore Windpark” (PGU) we joined forces in the year 2000 to successfully accompany our clients with their offshore project.

Key aspects of our agencies:

At BioConsult, founded in 1996, around 30 biologists, geographers and landscape managers handle all manner of issues relating to the aquatic environment. Our key areas of expertise are benthic and pelagic ecosystems in the North and Baltic Sea. We work for private and public clients as well as for governmental agencies. For example, the Northern German federal state departments, the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and the German Federal Environment Agency are our clients, for whom we have been assisting with the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and management plans for marine protected areas. Within the PGU, our key areas of expertise are the impacts of offshore projects on macrozoobenthos and fish communities. We plan and conduct monitoring and sampling schedules, including the taxonomic species identification and statistical data analyses. Our offshore-experienced crew is certified according to the GWO-standard. Our taxonomists are experts in species identification, data analysis and presentation. Thereby, we can ensure a professional and timely operation.

Our main office and laboratories are based in Bremen and we have an additional facility in Kiel.
